Feeling less online, and quieter. In a little while, I’ll tell you about how I got covid and lost my sense of smell and taste. Now the senses are back, but that was crazy! But there’s time for that later.
We seem to have been born into the most chaotic of times. I often wonder if that’s just an inherent facet of being human; thinking that your lifetime is the most chaotic. Perhaps we are always on the brink, but who am I to know? Either way, there’s a reverberation of destruction, with a hope of rebirth.
My mechanisms for attempting to process surprise even me. This means that in my time before bed, I often end up googling “Natural Wonders”. This isn’t meant to avoid or distract from the world we live in — it’s to remind me, really, how little I understand. These are things that exist independent of humans, and beautifully so. I hope I get to see them all in real life someday! Here are some of my favorite.
Not to be so “isn’t this trippy” but mushrooms really do astound me. Connected in ways we will never fully understand. Sigh.
Salt. Salt! Mountains and flats.
Sand dollars. They always make me think about the Oregon coast, where I would collect them with my Grandma. Sometimes there were few to find, but sometimes so many they felt infinite. We would leave them out in the sun to dry.
Stained glass. This isn’t actually a natural phenomenon, but feels sacred and organic anyway.
Bioluminescence. This is when the ocean sparkles, or can glitter with movement, due to natural chemical release in certain organisms.
More soon. Sending love <3
