Hii I have kind of tired meself out with my *thinkpieces* so I thought it would be nice to do something a little different this week. In cooking, it often helps to think about if something ‘hits’ or it doesn’t—like does it taste really really good, or is there something a bit off? So I have made a list of what, for me this week, has hit and not hit. Enjoy !
Hit
-this salad I made came out really nicely :) radicchio rose buds!
^!!!! Literally a rose~!
-Sheila Heti’s weekly novel newsletter… omg.
-This Jungian Life is probably my favorite podcast. Their episode on Reality this week was a pleasure.
-Wednesday, I went to Tom’s. We didn’t even have a plan to, it just happened, which is always the best type of morning. I always get the banana walnut pancakes and bacon. The sun came out for the first time and it felt like spring, and I remembered that I am a better person in the sunshine :)
-OLIPOPS ARE SO GOOD. My new kombucha. I like the Root Beer and the Cola, and I famously hate soda, and these make me feel really good. They have fiber in them. Random!
-I’ve been loving the stretch where you sit on your toes with your feet upside down.
-Chani Nicholas’ The Week Ahead is a podcast the astrologist puts out on her (free) app every week. It’s a guide to the week’s astrology and this week especially was quite powerful. Her voice is lovely. When I don’t have my headphones with me, I listen while holding the phone to my head as if I’m talking on the phone. Intermittently, I say “yes… woah. Totally.”
^I made this and it was also yummy
^this child in a fur at Magnolia Bakery. Mummy also in a fur.
Not hit
-tried again with Emily in Paris… Netflix has become insufferable. Je n’aime pas ça !!
-got my heat finally fixed… but on the hottest day of the week
-I love this video so much that I watched it too many times and now I feel twee :(
-I needed to plug my phone in, so I stopped at a café in my neighborhood and bought a drink. I decided to try something new: ginger turmeric chai latte. Did it sound good? Yes ! look good? Yes! Taste truly like a child’s lukewarm sippy of milk ? Yes. $8 that I shall never get back.
-feeling young, hot and well in summer and old, sick and tired in the winter
-dreamt about lentils burning and woke up to myself literally saying out loud, “I had a bad dream, I had a bad dream”
-my therapist yawned when I was talking… lol
-having a confusing allergic skin moment around my eyes. Not just dark circles — something else. Feels unsolvable. Makes me look incredibly world-weary.
Gives me “Old Woman Cooking Eggs” vibes, I think.
Ok ! until next week ! Thank u for reading <3 <3
